I am not well

Ugh. I am sick. Sore throat. Fever. Achy muscles and joints. I thought, for sure I had strep throat. I figured I get my positive strep test back, take my antibiotics and get back to work. Nope. It's not going to work out that way. At this point I am waiting for test results that will either confirm or deny that I have MONO. Yes, the "kissing disease." Where or how I would get Mono, I'm not exactly sure. But--that is the current theory. I'm on day two of being off of work this week. Last week I was off Monday and Tuesday, so four days total of missing work for this month. Ugh. Send some chicken soup my way! I need to feel better asap.

Oh, Rachie! I hope you feel better soon. That is no fun at all! I had mono when I was in university (and, no, I didn't get it from kissing anyone). I was out of school for three months and had to do all my assignments via correspondence. Thank goodness we had internet and e-mail already back then! LOL! Actually, it was dial-up and not so fun.

Anyway, I got Mono because I was going to university full time, commuting 1.5 hrs to and from home after school (for a total of 3 hrs commuting every day), and worked at as an EA at a school halfway between my university and my home. Work, school, travel...work, school, travel= one very tired and sick girlie!

The doc diagnosed me with Mono and said that my immune system was weakened. Not enough rest, always on the go, stress...those are all factors. Contrary to popular belief, it's not just "the kissing disease". ;) My parents were alarmed and questioned just what I was doing at university! LOL! Apparently, Mono is quite common in university students.

Hope you feel better soon! :)
