The hitch-hiker

So I'm cruising down Stewart Avenue toward my home the other day and what do I see standing on the corner of Stewart and 24th? A hitch-hiker. I have mixed feelings about these folks. I almost always have this internal battle with myself--pick them up or not?? I know that many people say absolutely NOT. No picking up hitch hikers--it's dangerous! But part of me sees the good in EVERYONE and then I feel like I am the one who is "bad" because I'm not helping someone out who needs it. I was raised to help others. It's in my blood now. So. . .when did helping a hitch hiker cross the line from good deed to dangerous deed?

Maybe it was Ted Bundy's fault. Be careful, sista.

Wow, I actually saw what appeared to be two high school students who were trying to hitchhike on Sixth Street near Franklin about 2-3 weeks ago, but I didn't feel comfortable giving them a ride because I always wonder what they are running from, or what they did that they have to run.
